Enlisting in the Second AIF in November 1940, WO1 Waters served in the Pacific campaign with the 2/29 Battalion. He was captured at Parit Sulong in January 1942, and died of illness whilst a prisoner of war (POW) in Siam on 9 November 1943, aged 27.
