BENDIGO Commemorative Service
On 5th October at 1100 hours this year we are holding a commemorative service in Bendigo at the Sandakan Memorial McIvor Highway Strathdale to honour the Men of the 2/29th Battalion that lived in and around the Bendigo area.

January Shrine Service [Battle of Muar Commemoration]
The 2/29th Battalion AIF first went into action on 17 January 1942, just north of the Bakri crossroads in Johore, Malaya. Ever since, on the Sunday falling on or near the 17th of January, the Battalion and it’s Association have commemorated the Battle of Muar, and honoured its war dead of Muar.
The 2/29th Battalion AIF Association invites all veterans, their family members and friends to our Annual Commemorative Service at the Shrine of Remembrance
Morning tea will follow the service.
2026 AGM and Reunion Luncheon
Our AGM and Reunion Luncheon are held annually on 24 April.

Annual Bob Christie Memorial Golf Day
The Committee are again holding the Annual Bob Christie Memorial Golf Day
Date: Sunday, 18 November 2018
Where: Burnley Golf Club
What does this mean?: You do not have to be a golfer – this has become a social gathering for the 2/29th family and supporters. It is a fun day and nice to catch up with everyone in a less formal setting..
A BBQ lunch will follow – BBQ supplied – (BYO food). The course is Licensed so all alcohol must be purchased on site (no BYO).
Time: Arrive around 10:00am, tee off at 11:00. If you are just coming for the BBQ, this will commence when the ‘golfers’ return, approx. 12 noon.
Cost: approx. $21.50 per person.
The winner will have the honour of having their name placed on the ‘Bob Christie Memorial Trophy’. Additional prizes are currently being organised.

Commemorating the 1st AGM of the 2/29th Battalion A.I.F Association
We will be commemorating the 1st general meeting for all returned servicemen of the Battalion, which was held on the 7th March 1946 at 7.30pm.
Golf and BBQ Lunch
This is an Open Invitation to all Members and Friends of the Battalion to join us for a
9 HOLES ROUND OF GOLF & BBQ LUNCH
When: Sunday 8TH November, 2015 (teeing off at 10:30am)
Where: Burnley Golf Club, 102 Madden Road, BURNLEY (south of the railway line)
Enjoy a leisurely 9 holes round of golf at Burnley Golf Course, followed by a BBQ lunch. The Callaway Scoring System will be used for those who do not have an official handicap. Official handicaps will be confirmed via Golflink.
Time: Arrive around 10:00am, tee off at 10:30. For those who are new to golf there will be an introductory session commencing at 9:00am on the practice green (Using the K.I.S.S. Principal -Very basic).
Cost: approx. $20 for 9 holes –concession fee is $14
Club and Buggy Hire is available but must be booked. There are only four self-drive carts; the remainder are pull-carts.
