DOWNEY Robert Arnold VX41950 D Coy [A Force]

Robert DOWNEY was born in Mirboo North on 3 March 1908. He lived in Trafalgar, Victoria when he enlisted in July 1940. He was married and worked as a Drover.

Robert sailed to Singapore with the Battalion late July 1941 and become a prisoner of war at the fall of Singapore. He returned to Australia in October 1945.

Robert died on 2 January 1977, aged 68.
