2014 is the 72nd anniversary of the Battle of Muar and Bakri
The Luncheon will be the occasion for the launch of ‘Robbie’ The life and letters home of Lt Col John Charles Robertson written by our CO’s grandson Andrew Warland.
‘Robbie’ will be launched by Dr Peter Brune, author of several highly regarded histories of the Papua New Guinea front in World War II. His new book Descent into Hell: The Fall of Singapore – Pudu and Changi – The Thai-Burma Railway will be released on 1 August 2014.
All 2/29th Battalion veterans and their wives, and all widows, are invited to the reunion lunch as the guests of the battalion.
The cost to members will be $55, to non-members $65, and to children (under 16) $30.

Pre-dinner drinks will be available from 11.45 am, the Annual General Meeting will commence at 12.30 pm, and the Luncheon will begin at 1 pm. Although non-members may not vote, they are welcome to attend the AGM.
The Rendezvous Grand Hotel, 328 Flinders Street, Melbourne, is close to the Elizabeth Street entrance/exit of Flinders Street Station, and can be reached by either tram or train. There is car parking available at an adjacent commercial car park in Flinders Street.
